Biography

musilea.com was created by Brian Pinnell, a teacher of for over 30 years, experience of teaching pupils for exams or their pleasure.

Awarded a B.A in Music Education from the University of Sunderland in 1995 Brian has taught a multitude of children in individual, group and whole class settings.

The initial idea for this educational website came from music services moving to whole class music lessons to encourage more pupils to take up musical instruments.

Each child began in their form classes of thirty pupils with one teacher to guide them on their first steps.

While being outnumbered colleagues asked for ideas to help them address some issues including basic rhythm and pitch fluency, so I found some music software and dedicated some time to creating these activities.

So far they have been used across the UK by teachers and parents as a practice or teaching tool to develop understanding of rhythm and pitch while enabling pupils to compare their playing to their goals.
